Cross-country skiing in Davos Klosters has so far been free for everyone. This will change from the coming winter season. Due to climate change and the need for reliable snow, cross-country skiing operators will have to invest more - and are therefore introducing a new cross-country skiing pass.
Expansion of snow farming for an early start to the season, artificial snowmaking and new lighting for the night trails: the municipalities of Davos and Klosters are planning significant investments over the next few years in order to continue to guarantee a first-class range of cross-country ski trails. Therefore, from the 2024/25 winter season, a fee will be charged for the use of the cross-country ski trails in the destination Davos Klosters. The cross-country ski passes are available online in the holiday shop or from December 2024 in the information offices in Davos and Klosters.
The world's cross-country skiing elite competes every year at Davos Nordic. Even outside of the FIS competition, professionals are on the trails here: As Davos is one of the first winter sports resorts in Switzerland to start the season thanks to snow farming, athletes train in Davos Klosters. They prepare for the season.
The trails are free for athletes and support staff of the Swiss national cross-country skiing, biathlon and Nordic combined teams from squads A to C; for foreign national teams, for A-squad teams and athletes of the second highest level. With one exception: weekly or day tickets must be purchased for the snow farming trail.
