The highest brewery in Switzerland and the first show brewery in the canton of Graubünden is in Monstein. It is located in the former village dairy, a building that was built 100 years ago. BierVision Monstein AG now brews Monstein beer specialties using crystal-clear Monstein spring water, Swiss hops and spicy malt according to a traditional recipe. Monstein is a picturesque village at 1625 meters above sea level. The typical Walser houses and Spiicher give the community with two churches and two inns an unmistakable charm.
Every Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tour and cozy get-together with the brewer. From January to December you can spend cozy hours with friends at a brewer's aperitif or try your hand at brewing a beer yourself in the brewer's seminar.
The Clavadeleralp show dairy is located at 2,028 m above sea level and offers guests a wonderful view of the Alpine panorama. The show dairy can be reached either by taking the Jakobshorn cable car to Jschalp and then a 45-minute walk, by taking the post bus to Clavadel and then a one-hour hike, or by taking one of the many other marked hiking trails from the valley.
