An ancient winter sport is experiencing a hip revival in many places: ice skating. And it has a long tradition in Davos. Instead of the natural ice rink, the Davos Ice Dream has been opened for ice skating, curling, hockey and speed skating.
In London, the glittering pop-up ice arenas have been the attraction for winter outings for years. But half of Vienna also meets in front of the illuminated town hall. And Davos is also continuing its great ice skating tradition with its Eistraum. True to tradition, Davos' ice offerings are also spectacular. With 4500 m² of ice surface, the Eistraum Davos is the largest mobile artificial ice rink in Switzerland.
From December 7, 2024 at 12 noon, you can once again swing your skates at the Davos sports stadium. Whether for leisurely ice skating, curling, hockey games or acrobatics - everything is possible. The ice hockey field in the middle is surrounded by an ice rink. This means that the Davos Ice Dream is also suitable for speed skating. Speaking of which: Two hours before normal opening times, the Davos Ice Dream is reserved exclusively for speed skaters. The ice rink is open throughout the winter season until February 28, 2025.

Thanks to so-called ice gliders, people in wheelchairs can also go on the ice in Davos. The Cerebral Foundation and the Destination Davos Klosters are making this possible as part of the "Ice skating for people in wheelchairs" project. An ice glider is a type of "platform on runners" on which wheelchair users can place themselves with their wheelchair. The ice gliders are designed to fit most wheelchair models. The ice glider is available free of charge on request.
The "Chalet Iisstock" was added this season right next to the Davos Ice Dream. The restaurant has 50 seats inside. It has a cozy atmosphere with lots of wood, fluffy furs on the benches and hockey souvenirs on the walls, such as a Joe Thornton jersey. The outdoor area has space for 90 guests. Ideal for refreshment before a HCD match or as a breather after ice skating. Tip: Every Friday there is a large fire bowl for grilling your own meat and a raclette party inside.
